Caorle Film Festival welcomes submissions from filmmakers from all over the world.
Short Films
Films up to 35 minutes. We accept fiction, animation and experimental works.

Documentary works of any length with social and cultural relevance.

Regulations
By submitting to the competition, you confirm that you understand and accept all terms.
Organizers
Caorle Independent Film Festival is organized by Associazione Culturale CAORLE FILM with support from local institutions.
The ninth edition will take place from September 15 to 19, 2026 in Caorle, Venice.
Applications
The competition is open to features, shorts, documentaries, pilot episodes and animation films.
Selected works compete for technical awards.
Submissions and Deadlines
Submissions for CIFF 2026 open on November 16, 2025 and close on June 1, 2026.

2. Submission Method
Submission is accepted exclusively online through www.filmfreeway.com/CaorleFilmFestival.
3. Eligibility Requirements
Features, shorts, documentaries and animation produced from January 1, 2024 onward are eligible.
Not admitted:
- Works already submitted to previous festival editions
- School works
- Works made by CIFF staff or collaborators
- Political or religious propaganda, violence or hate content
- Amateur works
4. Languages and Subtitles
Foreign works must include English or Italian subtitles; Italian works must include English subtitles.
5. Rights and Declarations
By submitting, the author declares they own all required rights to the work.
In case of false declarations, authors remain fully liable.
6. Multiple Entries
Each author may submit multiple works by paying the corresponding fee.
7. Duration Limits
Pilot episodes must not exceed 40 minutes and features must not exceed 90 minutes.
8. Required Materials
Required files must be uploaded to FilmFreeway with download enabled.
Please strictly follow these requirements:
- 01 Digital copy in .mp4 h264 format
- 02 Vertical A4 poster, minimum 300dpi, in JPG or PDF format
- 03 Synopsis from 200 to 350 characters, subject to editorial adjustments if needed.
Important
Complete the technical sheet carefully, including principal cast and crew roles.
It is the author responsibility to provide correct data and working files.
8.1 - Non-compliant works may be excluded or technically re-encoded by the Festival.
9. Permissions and Screening
By submitting, authors grant screening and promotional use rights for the Festival event.
9.1 - No financial compensation is provided for screened selected works.
10. Communications
Authors must provide a valid email address for all official communications.
It is the author responsibility to contact organizers at info@caorlefilmfestival.com before final submission.
Admission to Competition
11 - Submitted works are first reviewed by a technical committee for eligibility.
11.1 - Official selections will be announced on July 6, 2026 with 75 works.
11.2 - A professional external jury will then decide category winners.
12.3 - The Festival does not reimburse travel or accommodation costs, but offers partner deals.
Awards will be presented during the Festival final evening on September 19, 2026.
Exclusion
Festival Management may reject works in the following cases:
- — Failure to meet admission requirements
- — Missing files or incorrect information
- — Content against applicable law or human rights
- — Fewer than 3 entries in selected categories
Disqualification
Attempts to obtain results early or spread misleading information may lead to disqualification.
Violent or disrespectful behavior during the Festival may lead to disqualification.
False declarations about the submitted work.
If not admitted, the submission fee is not refundable.
Out-of-competition screenings still require full acceptance of regulations.
Ceremony - September 19, 2026
Awards
Winners receive an original trophy during the awards ceremony in Caorle on September 19, 2026.
Audience Jury Award
Youth Jury Award
Additional special mentions may be assigned to outstanding works.
If a winner is absent from the ceremony, the trophy may be shipped at recipient expense within 6 months.
